San Gimignano...a small historic village with pure Italian charm

The city is small enough to be a tourist destination that can be visited on a one-day trip from Florence or from some nearby cities such as Siena, but its different night atmosphere makes many travelers prefer to experience staying in it.

The city can be reached by bus from Florence, Siena or Porta San Giovanni, and because the historic city of San Gimignano is located on a high hill and does not have a train station, but you can easily reach from Florence by taking the train to Poggibonsi and then taking the bus to San Gimignano.

But if you are coming to visit the city by renting a car, be aware that you cannot drive inside the historic city walls, and you will find some paid parking spaces and free parking near them.

The most important tourist places that you will see in San Gimignano include both the historical gate through which you will enter, the Piazza del Duomo, the San Giminbano Museum 1300, the Collegiata Cathedral and the Museum of Religious Arts, the tallest tower in the city, Torre Grossa, and other landmarks.
